The city of Jeffersonville needed to replace deteriorating concrete pipe in order to limit and control any Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) discharge into the Ohio River. ISCO introduced large-diameter profile pipe to the city and engineer as a solution. The city of Jeffersonville chose the profile pipe system because it was both cost-effective and innovative. The large-diameter pipe system provided an air-tight uniform connection through all joints, including pipe-to-manhole transitions.
Spiral wound high-density polyethylene (HDPE) profile pipe was used for this project.
The project included:
All pipes were joined using an integrated electrofusion bell and spigot technology. ISCO also designed and fabricated the manhole, wrote the spec for the pipe, as well as assisted with the installation and training of the electrofusion process.
